Since opening our doors in December 2024, the JSET Skills Academy has become the foundation of our training excellence. We've delivered thousands of hours of in-house, paid training to participants, investing hundreds of thousands of dollars in materials and instruction to ensure every team member receives world-class education.
Our approach combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience. Using real-world materials, students gain the skills they need to excel from day one.
Our flagship program provides comprehensive installation training, equipping technicians with the foundational skills they need to build automation and control systems. Graduates earn their LVT certificate and are prepared to deliver quality work in the field. This program ensures every team member — whether newly hired or transitioning from the field — receives the same high-quality, formalized training.
Launched in April 2025, this specialized course introduces participants to control systems through a unique blend of hardware and software training. Students work on custom-built control board training stations that replicate components they'll encounter in real job sites, bridging the gap between classroom learning and field application.
Our apprenticeship program offers a clear path to mastery in building automation and control systems. Over four years, apprentices earn their Journeyman Certificate as Electronics Systems Technicians while accumulating credits toward a Construction Management Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Our training is delivered by a dedicated team of full-time trainers and subject matter experts from the field who rotate into the Skills Academy. This model ensures participants receive both structured curriculum and real-world field knowledge, combining the best of theoretical and practical learning.
The JSET way is “better than required,” with quality before quantity. Our education team adapts to the needs of the business, regularly consulting field teams to identify opportunities for improvement and developing new content in response. We use data-driven approaches to refine our curriculum, ensuring every course is repeatable, consistent and effective.
We offer formalized training courses for every position at JSET — from installation technicians to project managers. Our Learning Management System (LMS) platform enables flexible, à la carte training that can be completed online or in the Skills Academy, allowing us to deliver education without pulling team members away from critical projects.
